Asics was first founded in 1949 under the name "Onitsuka Tiger" by Kihachiro Onitsuka.

In 1977 Onitsuka´s Company merged with the GTO Sports Nets & Sportswear and so Asics ( Anima Sana In Corpore Sano ) was born.

Which means as much as: “A healthy mind in a healthy body”.
