Havaianas
Havaianas: Havaianas is the Brazilian brand for flip-flops, founded in 1962. You can recognise a pair of Havaianas by the sole with its rice-grain pattern. At Coziness you'll find classics like the Top and Brasil Logo.
From the zori to a classic
The inspiration was the Japanese zori: Havaianas replaced the straw sole with a flexible rubber sole. The name comes from the Portuguese word for Hawaiian. In Brazil the government even classified the flip-flops as a staple product, like rice and beans. In the 1990s surfers flipped the white sole of their Havaianas over so the pair was a single colour. Havaianas picked up the idea, and that's how the Top came about.
Top, Brasil Logo and Slim
The Top is the basic model: single colour, with a logo on the strap. The Brasil Logo from the Havaianas Brasil line additionally features a small Brazilian flag on the strap. Both are unisex. The Slim, with narrower straps and a narrower sole, is designed for a more feminine look. On the Top Logo Pop Up the logo stands out in a contrasting colour.
Size and fit
Havaianas come in double sizes like 39/40 or 43/44. In our EU sizes Havaianas run a size small, so it's best to order a size up. Our 41/42 corresponds to the Brazilian size 39/40. There should be a little sole left free at the front and back. The size chart on the product page shows you the measurements in centimetres.

What are Havaianas?
Havaianas are flip-flops from Brazil: the company Alpargatas launched the brand in 1962, modelled on the Japanese zori. According to the manufacturer, over 250 million pairs are now sold every year.
Whether enough sole is left free at the front and back is something you can check when you try them on at the concept store in the Belgian Quarter in Cologne. You can order your Havaianas online just as easily.
